The 2025 PCSO Charity Run gathered over 4,000 runners who came together not only to compete but to uphold the true spirit of giving and compassion.
More than just a race, the event—organized by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in partnership with RunRio—reaffirmed the agency’s enduring mission to promote charity and community service. The successful run was held Sunday at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles, who personally joined the 5K category, emphasized that the annual event goes beyond physical fitness.
“It’s a meaningful way to strengthen the culture of compassion and collective action for those in need,” he said. “We hope that we continue to advocate events like these, as we all know the noble and selfless intentions that the PCSO has in helping those in need.”
This year’s edition, organized with RUNRIO Inc., saw participation across 21K, 10K, 5K, and 3K categories—nearly double last year’s turnout. Robles said the growing number of runners reflects the public’s deepening support for PCSO’s charitable mission.
“Naipakita natin hindi lang ang kahalagahan ng pagtakbo para sa ating kalusugan kundi para sa patuloy na pagsulong ng kawanggawa,” he noted. “Patunay ito ng ating tumitibay na dedikasyon sa paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko nang sama-sama.”

The event also supports Proclamation No. 598, which declares October 30 as the National Day of Charity, underscoring the government’s continued efforts to advance charitable initiatives through agencies like PCSO.
“Nais nating ipaalam sa publiko na ang gobyerno ay patuloy na isinusulong ang kawanggawa sa pamamagitan ng mga ahensyang tulad natin,” Robles added. “Sana ay madala natin sa ating mga tungkulin ang takbong dedikado sa pagtulong—na kahit malapit o malayo ay tatahakin natin para makapag-serbisyo.”
True to PCSO’s core mission, proceeds from the run will benefit 11 charitable organizations, including Christian Mission Philippines, Inc., Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly, White Cross, SOS Children’s Village Lipa, and Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home, among others.
The 2025 PCSO Charity Run was co-presented by Ayala Land, Inc. and Make It Makati, with support from corporate partners such as Olympic Village, Decathlon Pasig, Unilab, Leslie’s Snacks, and Ascend Therapy and Wellness Center, ensuring a well-organized and community-driven event.
In the 21K main race, James Kevin Cruz and Jessa Mae Roda emerged as champions, clocking in at 1:17:50 and 1:28:01, respectively. Other category winners included James Daniel Orduña, Edna Magtubo, Mark Anthony Oximar, and Tracy Kate Calupig.
As the PCSO continues to bridge sports, charity, and public service, Robles reaffirmed his vision of an agency that not only raises funds but also inspires Filipinos to move—literally and figuratively—for a greater cause.
“Ang takbong ito ay simbolo ng ating paglalakbay tungo sa patuloy na pagtulong,” Robles said. “Habang tayo ay tumatakbo para sa ating kalusugan, tumatakbo rin tayo para sa kapwa.”
