MANILA Vice Mayor Chi Atienza gave assurance that the city council will fully cooperate with independent investigations involving alleged acts of sexual harassment by a city councilor.
Atienza issued the statement following the accusations of Manila 4th District councilor Eunice Castro of repeated sexual harassment acts by fellow councilor, Ryan Ponce.
“I want to emphasize that both parties are entitled to due process. These are serious allegations, and it would be unfair to pass judgment without a proper and impartial investigation… Rest assured that the council will cooperate fully with any independent investigation that may be conducted.
What matters now is truth, fairness, and justice — not politics,” the vice mayor said.
She stressed that the city council does not tolerate any form of harassment or inappropriate behavior, inside or outside the session hall. Pot Chavez
