Five Filipino business leaders were named to Fortune magazine’s list of the “100 Most Powerful Women in Asia” for 2025.
The ranking, which includes founders, chief executive officers and other C-suite leaders, celebrates women who drive excellence, innovation and inspiration in their fields. The women recognized are leveraging regional and global volatility for business advantage, according to the magazine.
More than a third of the leaders on the list are within Global 500, China 500 and Southeast Asia 500 companies, spanning 14 markets including Southeast Asia, Greater China, India, Japan, South Korea and Australia. Tan Su Shan, chief executive of Singapore’s DBS Group, topped the list.
The Filipino business leaders on the list are Mynt/GCash president and chief executive Martha Sazon, Ayala Land Inc. president and chief executive Margarita Dy, Land Bank of the Philippines president and chief executive Lynette Ortiz, Megaworld Corp. president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso and Union Bank of the Philippines president and chief executive Ana Maria Aboitiz Delgado.
Sazon was the highest-ranked Filipino at No. 37. Forbes noted that over 94 million Filipinos have used GCash, the popular and fast-growing fintech app. After an investment from Japan’s largest lender, MUFG, GCash’s valuation rose to 5 billion last year, and Sazon is now preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) that could raise as much as 1.5 billion.
Dy, ranked No. 69, was executive vice president and chief operating officer before becoming chief executive, and has been a member of the management committee since 2008. Ayala Land’s net income rose by 8 percent in the first half of 2025 to hit 240 million.
Ortiz ranked No. 72, the 11th president of Land Bank, has led the bank since her 2023 appointment, prior to which she was chief executive of Standard Chartered Bank Philippines.
Gutierrez-Alfonso ranked No. 92. Gutierrez-Alfonso joined Megaworld six months after it was founded in 1990. The company reported 1.4 billion in revenue in 2024, a seventeen percent jump.

Aboitiz Delgado ranked No. 94. Delgado became president and chief executive of UnionBank in January 2025. UnionBank reported 1.8 billion in revenue in 2024, a five percent jump.
