RASLAG taps Greencity as owner’s engineer for 100-MW solar project

RASLAG Corp. on Monday awarded Greencity Energy Philippines Inc. the contract to serve as owner’s engineer for its subsidiary RASLAG Liwayway Inc.’s 100-megawatt (MW) solar power project, which includes a battery energy storage system (BESS).

The company said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange that it selected Greencity Energy Philippines after a rigorous process conducted by its Bids and Awards Committee.

The solar project, which includes an estimated 56-megawatt-hour BESS, is located in Barangay Liwayway, Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija and is expected to start commissioning in 2027.

“GCE and its German-led expert team shall be ASLAG’s trusted technical partner to take on the role of owner’s engineer, with responsibilities that include project development, design review, procurement support, construction supervision, testing and commissioning support, and operations and maintenance transition,” RASLAG said.

The deployment period for Greencity Energy Philippines covers 18 months, subject to adjustment by the parties, the company said.

Greencity Energy Philippines is a specialized consulting and advisory firm recognized for its expertise in renewable energy, particularly photovoltaic technologies. It has served as developer, owner’s engineer, and project manager for more than one gigawatt-peak of cumulative photovoltaic power plant capacity globally.

RASLAG said that with the selection of Greencity Energy Philippines as its owner’s engineer, “the parties envision building a solar power plant that is designed with utmost safety and efficiency, adhering to both local and international laws, codes, standards, and industry best practices, with professional and meticulous quality management, ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy solution.”
