The Bureau of Immigration (BI) apprehended a Czech national sought by Interpol for illegally manufacturing narcotic and psychotropic drugs as well as poisons in the Czech Republic.
BI Interpol Chief Peter de Guzman said Ladislav Tykva was intercepted by immigration officers at NAIA Terminal 3 last September 27 while attempting to depart for Dubai. Officers found his name on Interpol’s list of wanted suspects.
Tykva is the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by the regional court in Prague, which carries a maximum penalty of 18 years in prison. Reports said that since 2023, he and two cohorts produced methamphetamine for distribution in the Czech Republic. Vito Barcelo
Authorities noted that Tykva entered the Philippines from the United Arab Emirates in January 2025, three months before the warrant was issued.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the agency’s system is linked to Interpol’s database, allowing officers to intercept wanted criminals. “This ensures such criminals are returned to their home country to face their cases in court,” he said.
