The milestone was celebrated on October two, 2025, at the Isla Grand Ballroom in EDSA Shangri-La, Mandaluyong City, to honor the surgeons and patients involved in the groundbreaking work.

St. Luke’s has pioneered many firsts in the country, beginning with the acquisition of the Da Vinci Si Robotic Surgery System and the first Robotic-Assisted Nissen Fundoplication in 2010.

It performed the first robotic-assisted thyroidectomy in the Philippines in 2011 and the first robotic-assisted esophagectomy in the Philippines in 2013.

In 2016, it reached 500 robotic surgeries, setting a national benchmark.  It also performed the first robotic-assisted tonsillectomy and first robotic-assisted thoracic surgery in the Philippines in that year.

It crossed the 1,000 robotic surgery mark in 2019.  In 2023, it performed Southeast Asia’s and the Philippines’ first robotic-assisted kidney transplant, a breakthrough in minimally invasive transplant surgery.

In 2024, it became the first in the Philippines to acquire the latest Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgery System and it performed the first robotic-assisted cardiac surgery in the Philippines and Southeast Asia using the latest robotic surgical system.

It completed more than 2,500 robotic surgeries in 2015 and performed the first robotic-assisted ureteral reimplantation in a pediatric patient in the Philippines.

The celebration featured the recognition of pioneering and top-performing robotic surgeons, the presentation of trailblazing procedures, acknowledgment of rising stars from St. Luke’s – Quezon City and patient testimonials.
