Actress and singer Karylle opened up about her past relationship with actor Dingdong Dantes, saying she does not see a friendship between them happening at this point in their lives.
In an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Karylle was asked about her brief encounter with Dingdong when he recently appeared for a movie promotion with Charo Santos-Concio on “It’s Showtime,” where she is a mainstay host. While she acknowledged it as a “beautiful moment,” Karylle admitted she did not feel the need to pursue a deeper interaction.
“So sometimes people judge na, ‘Bakit hindi mo hinaharap?’ Minsan hindi ka pa handa, so why would you put yourself in a situation na baka may magawa kang hindi exactly maganda,” she said.
“I don’t know if ‘friends’ is the word. I would imagine, being people in the same industry, we could support each other,” she added.
Karylle and Dingdong dated for three years before breaking up in 2008. Both have since moved on with Karylle married Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon in 2014, while Dantes tied the knot with Marian Rivera in 2014 as well.
“I see that he supports our movie, I did my best to kind of support their own movies, so I think supporting each other, maybe. The friendship, I don’t think is in the cards anymore,” Karylle continued.
Karylle also emphasized that mutual respect and support remain, saying that sometimes civility is enough closure.
