LTO ousts 68 traffic agents for corruption

THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has fired 68 of its traffic enforcers assigned at its central office on East Avenue, Quezon City for alleged corruption.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the dismissals were based on performance evaluation following complaints and reports of wrongdoings from motorists and netizens.

Mendoza earlier ordered the consolidation of all the performance evaluation, complaints, and concerns from social media and other platforms in relation to the allegations of misdemeanour, especially bribery and extortion.

The reports came from the netizens, motorists and undercover agents deployed by Mendoza to test the integrity of the agency’s enforcers with the assistance of stakeholders in the transport sector.
