Based on its 8:00 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said ‘Opong’ has accelerated while moving northwestward at the speed of 30 kilometers per hour (kph).
It was last tracked over the coastal waters of Mandaon, Masbate with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gusts of up to 150 kph. Strong to storm-force winds extend outwards up to 460 km from the center.
