Philippine Airlines (PAL) has canceled four domestic flights scheduled on Thursday, September 25, due to the proximity of Severe Tropical Storm “Opong” (international name: Bualoi) to various airport stations.
Flights PR 2653 and PR 2654 (Cebu-Catarman-Cebu) and flights PR 2671 and PR 2672 (Manila-Calbayog-Manila) were suspended.
PAL also advised the affected air travelers not to proceed to the airport and offered them the following options: Rebook the ticket in the same cabin class on a flight with available space within 60 days, convert to travel credits, or refund.
The airline is working closely with local authorities to ensure the safety of all travelers during this weather event.
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) has announced it is offering flexible options to passengers who wish to postpone their flights to and from the following destinations and dates:
• Butuan, Calbayog, Legazpi (Daraga), Masbate, Naga, San Jose (Mindoro), Siargao, Surigao, Tacloban, and Virac on September 25
• All flights on September 26 and 27
Passengers on these flights may avail of a free rebooking and travel fund up to two hours before their scheduled time of departure.
The local airlines stated they will provide updates as necessary.
