Asialink disburses P525 million to women-led businesses

Asialink Finance Corp. (AFC_ said Wednesday it has disbursed P525.15 million through its Women’s Access to Inclusive Support (WAIS) loan program as of Sept. 12, 2025.

AFC president and chief executive Samuel Cariño said the program’s 5,000-percent growth rate, from an initial P10 million at launch, demonstrated “strong demand for financing solutions designed for women-led MSMEs.”

Car loans were the most popular product, accounting for P250.30 million of the total, followed by truck loans at P70.10 million and secondhand car loans at P48.89 million.

Launched in July, the WAIS loan allows women entrepreneurs to borrow up to P20 million. The program, which has reached 1,025 women nationwide, offers interest rates as low as 0.99% and repayment terms of up to 36 months without requiring post-dated checks. The average loan size is P500,000.

The announcement coincided with the company’s “Ambassador Launch,” which introduced actress Jolina Magdangal as its first celebrity endorser. Magdangal said the program “proves that when women are given access to the right financial tools, they can turn ideas into businesses.”

Asialink’s WAIS loan program is supported by the Asian Development Bank and International Finance Corp.

The company’s total loan disbursements reached roughly P1 billion as of July and August 2025, with women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) making up 57 percent of the portfolio.
