Commuters with a national ID can ride the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) for free on Sept. 16, 2025, in celebration of International Identity Day, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said Tuesday.
The free rides are available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to passengers presenting any format of the national ID—the card, the paper form or the digital version.
The PSA said that aside from the free rides, it would offer national ID services at MRT-3’s Cubao and Taft stations, including registration, paper form issuance and assistance with accessing the digital national ID.
The national ID is a valid and accepted proof of identification for all transactions with both government and private institutions.
