Leading logistics provider Mober hosted the second World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day Forum to strengthen the country’s position as a leader in the ASEAN commercial EV landscape. The event, held at EDSA Shangri-La Manila, convened government officials and industry leaders to discuss the roadmap for sustainable logistics.
Dennis Ng, Founder and CEO of Mober, emphasized the company’s role in advancing the EV ecosystem through innovation and infrastructure development. He noted that Mober is not just adapting to the future but actively building it, highlighting initiatives like a lady driver program and plans for battery swapping and renewable energy hubs.you Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, principal author of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), expressed his continued support for policies that promote the growth of the EV industry.
The forum also included two panel discussions. The first panel, “Building the Commercial EV Ecosystem,” focused on the crucial role of government-private sector collaboration in developing renewable energy infrastructure and a skilled workforce. Panelists from the Department of Energy (DOE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), along with private sector representatives, underscored the need for supportive policies to sustain the transition to green mobility.
The second panel, “Building Resilient and Responsible Supply Chains,” brought together experts from major corporations such as IKEA Philippines, Ajinomoto, and Monde Nissin. The business leaders affirmed that the shift to green logistics is a business imperative, as it helps companies meet global sustainability standards and remain cost-competitive in the long run.
Ng concluded the forum by stating that the event aimed to lay the groundwork for a clearer roadmap and stronger collaboration to position the Philippines as a key player in the commercial EV landscape.
