Mariel Pamintuan goes viral with parody song on corruption

Actress and content creator Mariel Pamintuan is turning music into protest with her latest viral parody.

On Sept. 10, Pamintuan dropped “Crocs’ Den,” a reimagining of Huntr/x’s hit “Golden” from the Netflix film K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Instead of love and fantasy, her version slams alleged corruption in government flood control projects, turning a catchy hook into a rallying cry.

“We’re going up, up, up kung walang corrupt,” Pamintuan belts out, urging Filipinos to stand their ground and choose wisely in the 2028 elections. Before the video ends, bold words flash on screen: “Hindi tayo mahirap, marami lang ang corrupt.”

The video has struck a nerve online, amassing more than 7 million views on Facebook and 1.4 million on TikTok, with fans praising her for using art to speak truth to power.

“Corruption is what’s keeping our nation from moving forward. It’s time to change the rotten system and restore dignity to our government,” the actress wrote alongside the release.
