PDIC warns public against fake official receipts

State-run Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) is warning the public against fake official receipts (ORs) used for payments related to transactions with closed banks under liquidation.

The agency said it discovered that the counterfeit receipts carry the old PDIC logo and contain misspellings and forged signatures of PDIC personnel. The fake ORs also do not follow the standard format of authentic receipts. The agency said it changed its official logo on June 22, 2018.

PDIC asked the public to transact only with authorized personnel at its office located at PDIC Chino Building, 2228 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City 1233.

“The public is encouraged to verify the authenticity of all PDIC documents. Suspicious documents should be reported to the PDIC Public Assistance Department (PAD),” it said.

PDIC said it remains committed to protecting the interests of depositors through deposit insurance and by ensuring transparency in all its operations.
