Tropical depression ‘Lannie’ exits PAR

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday updated that tropical depression “Lannie” has slightly intensified but already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The tropical cyclone’s center was last estimated based on all available data at 400 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, moving west-northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour (kph).

It had maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph.

According to PAGASA, Lannie will move generally northwestward heading toward southern China.

It is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm tonight or early tomorrow while moving over the West Philippine Sea.

The state weather bureau said its 11 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin for Lannie will be its final advisory unless it further develops and reentry occurs.
