The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi hosted a five-day Regional Training on Gender and Development (GAD) for Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe from August 25 to 29, 2025.
Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in workshops, analyses, and collaborative discussions aimed at strengthening institutional practices and promoting inclusive, gender-responsive approaches in their respective posts.
“The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusive governance within the diplomatic service, recognizing the vital role of GAD initiatives in shaping responsive and forward-looking institutions,” the statement reads.
The program also encouraged the exchange of best practices and action planning to support the continued advancement of gender mainstreaming across the Philippine Foreign Service.
The training was facilitated by Gender and Development Consultant Atty. Allen A. Liberato-Espino, Gender-Responsive Quality Management System Consultant Mr. Oliver Aborque, under the guidance of Director Sharmaine Tiffany Garcia of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Human Resource Management Office.
Over 50 diplomats participated in the program, which provided a comprehensive platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and skills enhancement.
