‘Habagat’ rains call off onsite classes anew on Sept. 5

Several local government units have declared a suspension of classes on Friday, September 5, due to rains caused by the southwest monsoon or ‘habagat.’

As of 8:00 a.m., the following cities have sent students home amid the inclement weather conditions. All advisories apply to in-person classes in both public and private schools at all levels unless indicated otherwise:

  • Caloocan City
  • Las Piñas City
  • Marikina City
  • Malabon City
  • Parañaque City
  • Valenzuela City – in-person classes only for college students
  • Pasig City – preschool to senior high school (SHS)
  • Pateros – preschool to senior high school (SHS)

CENTRAL LUZON

BATAAN

  • Morong
  • Hermosa – kinder to senior high school (SHS)

BULACAN

  • Angat – preschool to secondary levels
  • Balagtas, Bocaue, Bustos, Calumpit, Guiguinto, Norzagaray, Obando, Paombong, Plaridel, Pulilan, San Ildefonso, San Jose del Monte, San Miguel, San Rafael
  • Hagonoy and Santa Maria – preschool to SHS may shift to online learning
  • Malolos – preschool to secondary levels may shift to online or modular classes
  • Pandi – may shift to online or modular classes

NUEVA ECIJA

  • San Isidro

PAMPANGA

  • Arayat, Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol, Santa Ana
  • San Simon – alternative modes of learning

TARLAC

  • Bamban and Capas – may shift to online or modular classes

ZAMBALES

  • Cabangan, Castillejos, Olongapo City, San Antonio, San Marcelino, Subic
  • San Narciso and San Felipe – preschool to SHS, may shift to online or modular classes
