PDEA: Do not use agency name, logo

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday warned the public that the unauthorized use of its name and logo is punishable under Article 177 of the Revised Penal Code on Usurpation of Authority or Official Functions.

The warning followed a recent incident involving an individual caught wandering the streets wearing a sublimation shirt bearing the official PDEA logo.

Upon questioning, the suspect admitted he was not a member of the agency and revealed that he purchased the shirt from an online shopping platform.

PDEA stressed that anyone found knowingly performing acts of authority under false pretenses will face appropriate charges.

The agency reminded the public that those found guilty of usurpation may face imprisonment and encouraged vigilance by reporting similar incidents through its “Isumbong Mo sa PDEA” hotlines at 0931-027-8212 and 0995-354-7020.
