The Philippines’ Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA) will team up with the Southeast Asia Corporate Decarbonization Exchange (CDx) to host a national conference aimed at helping companies move from climate pledges to concrete, measurable strategies.
The Philippine Net Zero Conference 2025 will be held on Sept. 18 at the SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig City, bringing together business leaders, policymakers and sustainability experts.
While the Philippines has set ambitious goals—including a 75-percdent cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and stricter global reporting standards—many companies lack the tools, technology and financing to meet these commitments.
“Whether they’re small and medium enterprises tracking emissions for the first time, or large corporations working to reduce supply chain emissions, the challenge is clear: ambition must translate into action,” said Allan Barcena, NZCA executive director.
Building on its 2024 debut, the 2025 conference will feature a solutions-focused agenda, with a deeper dive into sector-specific challenges, innovation pathways, and financing mechanisms. Highlights include keynotes from government and business leaders, plenary discussions, and breakout sessions addressing real-world decarbonization barriers.
Confirmed speakers include Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Raphael Lotilla, who will deliver the keynote address, and Jerome Cainglet, president and chief operating officer of First Gen-owned Energy Development Corp. (EDC), who will open the event.
Panelists will include Bukidnon First District Rep. Jose Manuel Alba, Philippines and Greater Asia Sustainability Lead at Unilever Rondell Torres and First Philippine Holdings (FPH) chief sustainability officer Agnes de Jesus. Mark Lister, chief executive of CDx, will close the program.
“Through continuous and practical dialogue with different leaders, we can help drive both corporate and national progress toward a low-carbon economy,” Barcena said.
Insights from the conference will inform NZCA’s collective action priorities for 2026 and beyond. The event aims to provide participants with actionable knowledge, case studies and networking opportunities to help shape a shared action agenda.
Established in 2021, the NZCA is a private-sector net-zero coalition of nearly 30 companies from various industries. CDx, the NZCA’s official Knowledge and Network Partner, will lead the design and facilitation of the event’s core learning and peer exchange formats.
