Alex Eala took 69 minutes to get past Dutch rival Arianne Hartono, 6-2, 6-2 victory in her opening game on Wednesday (Manila time) at Guadalajara Open in Mexico.
Scoring 20 points of her 30 first serves, Eala advanced to the last 16 in the WTA 125 netfest at the Panamerican Tennis Center in Zapopan.

This is Eala’s fourth win since their last encounter at the Bengaluru netfest back in January, when the Filipina sensation prevailed, 6-2, 6-1.
The 20-year old Eala took the moment with her 3-1 lead in the first set after she broke Hartono twice.
Eala, now ranked at no. 75 in the world, is seeking her first WTA crown after becoming the first Filipino to win a Grand Slam main draw match in the recent US Open.
