ilipina rhythmic gymnast Jasmine Althea Ramilo made her mark on the international stage with a promising performance at the 41st FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, held recently in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 19-year-old gymnast delivered solid routines across all four apparatuses to finish 45th overall in the Individual All-Around qualification, tallying 70.150 points.
This was the highest placement among all Southeast Asian competitors in the field.
Ramilo showcased poise and artistry in her performances, scoring 24.100 in ball, 23.850 in clubs, 22.200 in hoop, and 20.300 in ribbon.
Her consistent execution not only highlighted her technical growth but also her composure against some of the world’s best rhythmic gymnasts.
While her placement fell short of the finals, her achievement is seen as a major breakthrough for Philippine gymnastics.
