On the Roadto Sanctuary: The Li Mega Experience

For families, comfort is the ultimate priority when choosing a vehicle. When a car offers a comfortable sanctuary for loved ones, especially on long journeys, price often becomes a secondary consideration. And if I were to choose a car with comfort as the primary criterion, the Li Mega would top my list.

I recently had the privilege of experiencing the Li Mega, not from the driver’s seat, but as a passenger—an experience that completely redefined the concept of a “test drive.” Li Auto Philippines, led by CEO Stone Yu and COO Solomon Gao, crafted an event where media members were treated like “family,” getting to ride in the featured vehicles: the superstar Li Mega, the Li 9, and the Li 7.

The Li Mega was truly spectacular. I spent over two hours in its spacious “captain’s seat” on the way to Nawa Wellness Resort in Calatagan. I arrived well-rested and refreshed, proving that this all-electric multipurpose vehicle is more than just a car—it’s a moving sanctuary.

Dubbed a “bullet train” on wheels, the Mega is built on an 800-volt electric platform and powered by a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system that delivers 536 hp. It can go from 0 to 62 mph in a stunning 5.5 seconds. Its “magic carpet ride” air suspension, with continuous damping control, ensures a smooth journey, while sound-deadening materials and double-glazed windows create a quiet cabin.

Inside, the luxury is endless. All three rows have heated seats, with the first and second rows also offering ventilation and massage functions. Entertainment is provided by two massive 15.7-inch TVs and a roof-mounted 17-inch screen for rear passengers, all complemented by an optional 21-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system. You can even enjoy karaoke on the go.

The Li Mega comes in two variants: the Mega Ultra at P5.99 million and the Mega Comfort, which we experienced, at P6.5 million. Our group also rode in the Li 9 (P5.5 million) and the Li 7 (P4.5 million).

The event was a resounding success, a testament to the seamless organization by the Li Auto team, including marketing manager CJ Pantoja and PR manager Patch Laubenia. It was a remarkable introduction for a new brand in the country, and a clear statement about what modern luxury family vehicles can be.
