DOLE: Workers can avail of free legal assistance

The Department of Labor and Employment has reminded the public that the department provides free legal assistance for workers who experience labor rule violations and to obtain appropriate benefits.

In a statement, the DOLE’s Public Assistance Complaints Unit (PACU) said it has assisted 1,493 walk-in clients from January to July 2025, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities, providing free legal advice on labor-related issues such as unjust termination, monetary claims, and access to social.

The commitment is part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s directive to provide accessible, inclusive, and rights-based labor protection initiatives through providing free legal assistance and ensuring the legitimacy of registered labor organizations.

Legal consultations are available free of charge at the PACU office located at the National Conciliation and Mediation Board–NCR, DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila.

The DOLE, through its Legal Service, vows to strengthen its labor protection initiatives to safeguard labor rights and ensure fair resolution of disputes in the labor and employment sector.
