Defending champions Team Liquid PH will look to bounce back from a slow start when they face Aurora Gaming on Friday in MPL Philippines Season 16 action.
Team Liquid PH struggled in their loss to ONIC Philippines last Saturday (August 23). In a post-match interview, head coach Rodel “Arsy” Cruz admitted that the team is currently behind on the meta for the latest patch, as they took some time off following their MSC 2025 championship run in Riyadh during the offseason.
Despite the setback, Coach Arsy expressed confidence that the team has enough time to recover and regain their championship form as the season progresses.
Meanwhile, Aurora Gaming is still searching for their first win after falling to Team Falcons last Friday (August 22). Head coach Aniel “MastertheBasics” Jiandani remains optimistic about the squad’s development, noting that Dylan “Light” Catipon is still adjusting and building chemistry in his return to MPL PH.
Both teams were among the top contenders in the Season 15 regular season standings, making this matchup one to watch.
The showdown between Team Liquid PH and Aurora Gaming is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Friday, August 29.
