CEBU City – The Cebu Normal University (CNU) embarks on a P1.95-billion Smart Campus Project, reputedly the largest modernization initiative designed to transform its main campus into a “dynamic smart hub” for higher education.
“We are preparing Cebu Normal University to eventually become world-class, with these temporary conditions being a transitional phase. The administration is working closely with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and prevent accidents,” CNU president Dr. Daniel Ariazo said at the press conference here.
The temporary classrooms are being created, especially for literary and medical students, to address immediate needs, Ariazo reassures that these temporary measures are part of a larger project aimed at long-term improvement.
CNU), the only state university in Central Visayas, received this big-ticket project allocation in 2024, consisting of two flagship components including the P998-million Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development Program and the P947-million Centralized Student Smart Hub that aim to modernize CNU’s infrastructure for long-term digital efficiency and global competitiveness.
