The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines announced the cancellation of five domestic flights due to adverse weather conditions on Tuesday.
CAAP chief information officer Eric Apolonio said Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight PR-2558 bound for Dipolog was suspended due to rainy weather affecting flight safety. A total of 153 passengers were affected by this cancellation.
“All affected passengers have been assisted with rebooking arrangements and provided with the necessary support,” said Apolonio.
PAL Express flights PR-2889 and PR-2890 (Manila–Ozamiz–Manila) were also cancelled, affecting 172 passengers.
Local carrier CebGo, sister airline of Cebu Pacific Air, also suspended two commercial flights going to and from Naga, affecting 141 passengers.
Apolonio said as of 12 noon, the Bicol International Airport continues to experience favorable weather conditions.
“No cancellation has been reported except for Naga Airport whose Cebgo flight (Manila-Naga-Manila) was cancelled due bad weather conditions in Manila,” he said.
The CAAP official added continuous monitoring is being conducted, and updates will be provided as necessary.
