Golf caddies gain financial literacy through Lhuillier’s Tee Up Your Future initiative

In a groundbreaking effort to uplift golf caddies and equip them for long-term success, Julien Lhuillier, son of Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO and sports patron Jean Henri Lhuillier, rolled out Tee Up Your Future—a financial literacy program designed specifically for caddies.

The pilot session, held at Alabang Country Club, gathered 20 participants who received hands-on training in managing personal finances. The program featured practical modules on saving, budgeting, SMART goal setting, emergency planning, debt management, and early investing—skills aimed at helping caddies secure financial stability beyond their work on the golf course.

To give participants a head start, each caddie was provided with a free Cebuana Lhuillier micro-savings account with seed money, as well as health coverage through Cebuana Lhuillier HealthMax.

For Julien, the initiative is both professional and personal. “This program is deeply personal to me because I have worked with them before as a junior golfer, seen their situation, and gotten to know some of them,” he shared. “Golf caddies play a crucial role on the course—but too often, they’re left out of opportunities for financial growth. With this program, we’re giving them the tools to succeed beyond the fairway—with clarity, confidence, and control over their future.”

More than just a workshop, Tee Up Your Future represents a movement to empower overlooked communities by providing them with the skills, resources, and support they need to break barriers and build brighter futures.
