Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Rep. Leila de Lima has formally filed on Thursday morning, August 14, a complaint and request for investigation against the prosecutors of the Department of Justice (DOJ) for grave misconduct and gross ignorance of the law.
“This is just the first step in a series of cases that we intend to file against those people who authored this greatest frame-up in Philippine history. Ibig sabihin, ito ay request pa lang for investigation kay Secretary Remulla at sa Department of Justice,” said lawyer Dino De Leon, counsel of De Lima.
Last month, a panel of prosecutors the DOJ filed a Motion for Reconsideration (MR) before the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 204 to declare De Lima guilty in a drug case.
However, they withdrew their MR upon the order of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon.
