Maya and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) teamed up to launch the “Championing the Pinoy Athlete” program, introducing initiatives to modernize and support the local sports community.
The partnership will enable cashless payments and the automated disbursement of allowances to athletes and coaches. It will also create a transparent system for National Sports Associations, which the groups say will improve sports governance and accountability.
Maya agreed to promote financial wellness by integrating savings, credit, insurance and investment tools to provide long-term financial security for athletes, coaches and PSC employees.
The initiative aims to make digital financial services accessible and create ways to empower fan and stakeholder engagement at key national sporting events.
“This partnership is about more than technology—it’s about giving our athletes the support they deserve both on and off the field,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group president and co-founder of Maya Bank.
