ABS-CBN Corp. said Wednesday its net loss narrowed 60 percent in the first half of 2025 on higher election-related advertising and lower operating costs.
The broadcast unit of the Lopez Group said its net loss amounted to P852 million from January to June 2025, down from P2.13-billion loss in the same period last year.
Excluding one-time gains, recurring consolidated net loss in the six-month period improved 71 percent year-on-year, the company said.
Consolidated revenue reached P8.28 billion in the first half of 2025, up by 6 percent from the previous year’s P7.79 billion. Consolidated operating costs and expenses totaled P8.94 billion, a reduction of 12 percent from the same period last year.
“This reduction was achieved through the continuous implementation of cost control measures, resulting in decreased general and administrative expenses, as well as lower employee costs,” ABS-CBN said.
