Century Pacific Food, Inc. (CNPF) said its US-based subsidiary, Century Pacific North America (CPNA), has acquired the plant-based brand Loma Linda from Atlantic Natural Foods Inc.
The acquisition, valued at less than $10 million, will help CPNA expand its growing presence in the shelf-stable, plant-based nutrition market.
The deal includes Loma Linda and other brands such as Tuno, neat and Kaffree Roma, as well as formulations, some manufacturing assets, licenses and inventory.
“This is a strategic and synergistic move for CPNA. We are bringing together a trusted heritage brand and a disruptor brand under one roof… This allows us to serve both loyal customers and new generations seeking accessible, nutritious, and sustainable food choices,” said CNPF chief operating officer Greg Banzon.
Loma Linda is a 135-year-old brand that has catered to the dietary needs of health-conscious consumers, particularly within the Seventh-day Adventist community.
Since acquiring the brand in 2016, Atlantic Natural Foods transformed Loma Linda into a key player in health foods. Its products, including the plant-based tuna alternative TUNO, are sold in North America and more than 30 other countries.
CPNA is known for its unMeat brand, a fast-rising shelf-stable plant-based product line available in retailers such as Walmart, Albertsons and HEB. The company said loyal Loma Linda customers can expect the same quality standards and product availability to be maintained.
CNPF said the acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to the business.
“The acquisition reflects CPNA’s measured and profitable growth strategy: tapping into established markets while accelerating momentum for plant-based food adoption across diverse geographies,” Banzon said.
He said it reinforces the company’s “broader mission of building a healthier, more sustainable portfolio that provides affordable nutrition.”
