Mercato Centrale Group, the country’s leading food business incubator, has partnered with tech solutions provider Peddlr Philippines Inc. to equip small food entrepreneurs with digital tools that streamline operations and enable business growth.
The partnership integrates Peddlr’s point-of-sale and analytics platform into the Mercato ecosystem, supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as they transition to data-driven and tech-enabled operations.
The agreement was formalized in a contract signing attended by Mercato Centrale chief executive officer RJ Ledesma and general manager Dan Aguilar, alongside Peddlr’s head of product, Kendrick Chan, and Go-to-Market senior associate Janri Tomioka.
“This partnership is a vital part of Mercato Centrale’s vision. It’s not enough to serve great food. Our vendors need to understand their operations, manage finances, and build customer relationships. With Peddlr, they now have practical tools to take control of their businesses,” Ledesma said.
Peddlr’s mobile app provides food businesses with point-of-sale functions, inventory tracking, QRPH-enabled payments, and real-time sales monitoring – tools once exclusive to larger enterprises but now accessible to MSMEs through this initiative.
“Access to analytics changes the game for our vendors. They can now run promos more effectively, adjust pricing strategies, and monitor margins. It’s an essential upgrade for today’s entrepreneurs,” Aguilar said.
To bridge the digital divide, the partnership includes onboarding and training support for vendors using older devices or with limited digital experience.
It also enables a secure data-sharing ecosystem between Mercato Centrale and its merchant network, allowing for more targeted support and initiatives.
Mercato and Peddlr will roll out the tools to hundreds of vendors across Metro Manila, helping them grow smarter and more sustainably in an increasingly competitive food landscape.
