Security Bank was recognized ten times at the Asian Banking & Finance Awards held on July 3, 2025, at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, for its leadership in customer service, digital innovation, sustainable finance, and financial inclusion.
The Bank brought home the SME Bank of the Year for its Business Banking Segment (BBS), which since 2022 has provided tailored loans, deposits, cash management, and partner-enabled services such as HRIS, legal support, tax filing, insurance, and digital payments. BBS also streamlined loan approvals to improve speed and service efficiency for SME clients.
Its Retail Banking Segment (RBS) earned four awards. The Mobile Banking & Payment Initiative of the Year was awarded for the revamped Security Bank app, launched in August 2024. The Credit Card Initiative of the Year recognized the Bank’s BetterBanking Rewards program, which enables real-time tracking and redemption of rewards points. The Consumer Finance Product of the Year was given for the VIP Lane service dedicated to top Auto Loan Dealership and Broker referrers.
Meanwhile, the External Environmental Initiative of the Year honored the Bank’s Solar Mortgage program, which allows clients to install solar panels through their home loans with no upfront cost.
SB Finance, the Bank’s microfinance arm, won Marketing & Brand Initiative of the Year for Tambike by MotorsikLOAN, a sealed-bid program offering affordable repossessed motorcycles to individuals and small business owners.
The Bank’s Wholesale Banking Segment (WBS) was named Domestic Cash Management Bank of the Year for enhancing digital platforms that drove increased transaction volume and deposit growth. It also received Domestic Trade Finance Bank of the Year for its Supply Chain Finance solution, which effectively addressed payment and performance risks and resulted in an 83.6% increase in transaction volumes between 2022 and 2024.
Security Bank Capital, the Bank’s investment banking arm, earned two honors. The Syndicated Loan of the Year was awarded for arranging Barracuda Energy’s P18.2-billion loan to finance a 550-megawatt solar project in Pangasinan. The Sustainability-Linked Bond of the Year recognized its role in co-leading Ayala Land’s P6-billion issuance—the first of its kind in the Philippine real estate and capital markets.
