Through his music and outreach, Jojo Mendrez continues to champion kindness, uplift fellow artists, and bring old favorites back into the spotlight.
The OPM singer dubbed the “Revival King” has signed a new contract with Artist Circle Talent Management, led by Rams David. The event doubled as a teaser for his upcoming single—“I Love You Babe,” a fresh take on Timmy Cruz’s 1987 hit I Love You Boy. The track will be released under Star Music.
It’s just the beginning of a new wave of revivals for Jojo, who’s also lined up renditions of “Tamis ng Unang Halik” by Tina Paner and “Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako,” Michael Pangilinan’s 2015 hit known for its LGBTQIA+ theme. Star Music’s Jonathan Manalo revealed a Christmas song is also in the works for Jojo, with an EP scheduled to drop before the year ends.
But it’s not just music that’s keeping Jojo busy. The singer is crisscrossing the country with his personal advocacy project, “Super Jojo: Libre Ko Na ’To,” offering help to those in need. The mantra, “Libre ko na ‘to,” serves both as a slogan and a nod to Jojo’s humble beginnings and belief in giving back without expecting anything in return.
His earlier single “Nandito Lang Ako,” an original track by Manalo, marked his foray into original material. Still, he remains best known for his string of revival hits, including “Tuyo Na’ng Damdamin,” “Magkabilang Mundo,” “Handog,” “Sana,” and his breakout track, “Somewhere in My Past,” originally by Julie Vega.
