The number of reported fatalities due to the combined effects of Tropical Cyclones Crising, Dante, Emong, and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) has risen to 37, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Thursday.
In its 6 a.m. bulletin, the NDRRMC said the deaths were recorded in multiple regions: nine in Metro Manila; eight in Calabarzon; six in Western Visayas; three each in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Negros Island Region, and Northern Mindanao; two in Central Luzon; and one each in Mimaropa, Davao Region, and Caraga.
Authorities also reported 22 individuals injured and eight others missing.
Nearly 7.7 million people—or 2.1 million families—across all regions except Eastern Visayas have been affected by the inclement weather.
Central Luzon was the hardest-hit region, with over 2.8 million individuals affected.
The severe weather triggered widespread flooding, landslides, structural collapses, and tornadoes.
As of the latest count, 105,466 people (30,072 families) were taking shelter in evacuation centers, while 88,734 people (23,588 families) sought refuge elsewhere.
The NDRRMC reported that the damage to infrastructure has reached ₱10.08 billion, while agricultural losses are estimated at ₱1.96 billion.
₱281.66 million worth of irrigation systems were damaged.
A total of 46,655 houses were reported damaged—41,217 were damaged partially, while 5,438 were destroyed.
Interruptions in power, water supply, and communication lines were also reported in the affected areas.
A state of calamity has been declared in 241 cities and municipalities, including entire provinces such as La Union, Bataan, Pampanga, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Antique, and Negros Occidental. Several cities and towns in Pangasinan, Bulacan, Tarlac, Zambales, Palawan, Romblon, Iloilo, and Cebu were also placed under a state of calamity.
In Metro Manila, the affected areas include Quezon City, Marikina, Navotas, Manila, Valenzuela, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa.
To date, over ₱763 million worth of assistance has been extended to affected communities.
