The Philippines settled for fourth place after a 1–3 loss to Thailand on Monday evening in the ASEAN U-23 Mandiri Cup 2025.
Despite the setback, it marked the Filipinos’ best-ever finish in the tournament, following their historic first appearance in the semifinals.

Thailand took a 2–0 lead with goals from Phanthamit Praphanth in the 29th minute and Siraphop Wandee in the 74th.
Fil-Am striker Otu Bisong-Banatao gave the Philippines a glimmer of hope in the 79th minute with a header from the center of the box to the bottom right corner, off a well-placed assist by Gavin Muens.
The Philippines landed in the third-place match against Thailand after falling short in the semifinals with a 1–2 defeat to defending champion Vietnam last Friday.
