DSWD Mimaropa Regional Director Reynaldo Reynoso said a total of 5,500 food packs have now been allocated for the affected town.

Of these, 3,220 packs have already been delivered, while the remaining 280 previously committed packs and the 2,000 additional FFPs are scheduled for pick-up and delivery today, July 28.

“We are releasing an additional 2,000 FFPs for Mamburao as agreed with Mayor Almero. We are in constant coordination with the local government of Mamburao to ensure that no one is left behind in this critical time,” Reynoso said in a message to Secretary Gatchalian.

Reynoso also assured the DSWD chief that the regional office remains committed to delivering prompt and compassionate service to communities affected by calamities.

According to the latest report from the field office, 3,156 families in Mamburao were affected by flooding. Province-wide, an estimated 30,000 families were trying to recover from the recent tropical storms and the effects of the southwest monsoon.

“Our priority is to make sure that families affected by the disasters receive immediate and sufficient aid, in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. that no one will go hungry in times of calamities,” Reynoso said.
