Manila, Philippines – The highly awaited Philippine Solar and Power Expo 2025, co-located with the Philippine Construction and Ceramics Expo, is all set to power up at the SMX Convention Center, Manila from July 29 to 31, 2025. Industry Experts Share Insights at Pre-Event Media Interaction

A pre-expo media briefing held at SMX Convention Center’s Meeting Room 5 brought together industry leaders to share their perspectives on the event’s significance.

Mr. Johnny Chotrani, Chairman of the Philippine-India Business Council and Advisory Board Member of the Expo, emphasized the massive growth potential in the Philippines’ solar and power markets. “This expo underscores the deepening India-Philippines collaboration. Our 75 years of diplomatic ties will be key to scaling bilateral trade and energy partnerships,” he remarked.

Mr. Carmelo Jimson B. Uranza, President of the Society of Philippine Electrotechnical Constructors and Suppliers (SPECS), praised the expo’s role in fostering sustainability.

“This event is a crucial springboard for promoting resilient, sustainable energy solutions for our nation,” he said.

Ms. Maria Theresa “Tetchi” Cruz Capellan, Chairperson of the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association and CEO of SunAsia Energy Inc., stressed the urgency of action:

“We are halfway through 2025. The clean energy transition is no longer optional—it’s imperative. This expo enables smarter planning, faster execution, and stronger collaboration.”

Urban planner Arch. Felino “Jun” A. Palafox, Jr., founder of Palafox Associates, connected the energy conversation to sustainable cities:

“As urbanization accelerates, we must build polycentric and climate-resilient cities. This expo is aligned with the vision for smarter infrastructure.”From the healthcare sector, Dr. Luis Ramon V. Rodriguez, President of Karl Group Holding Corp and the Philippine Medical Depot, highlighted the critical need for renewable energy in hospitals:

“Renewables are essential to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services, especially in disaster-prone regions.”

Although unable to attend in person, Engr. Warren Maralit, President of the Power Professionals Association of the Philippines (PPAP), shared a message:

“The expo offers a key venue for accelerating solar adoption and facilitating vital cross-sector partnerships.”
