HYUNDAI Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) further expands its electrified vehicle lineup in the country with the simultaneous launches of the all-new IONIQ 9 flagship electric SUV, and the 7-seater Palisade Hybrid, held recently at the Ayala Museum.
The Hyundai IONIQ 9 caters to families and individuals seeking substantial electric mobility. Its design features a streamlined profile with distinctive “cube projection” headlights, digital side mirrors, and a digital center mirror, signaling a futuristic aesthetic. Inside, the IONIQ 9 emphasizes superior space and comfort. The cabin’s versatility is highlighted by a full-flat capacity for seats, creating a lounge-like atmosphere and allowing for up to 1,323 liters of cargo space. Technology integration includes a panoramic curved infotainment display for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle functions, a BOSE sound system, and integrated front and back cameras serving as a built-in dashcam.

Performance-wise, the IONIQ 9 is equipped with a 110.3 kWh battery, delivering an impressive all-electric range (AER) of up to 600km on a single charge. It supports optimized 24-minute charging times and features Multi-Terrain Control for varied driving conditions. Practical luxury is further enhanced by a panoramic sunroof and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, available both inside and outside the vehicle. Safety is comprehensive, with Hyundai SmartSense – the brand’s suite of auxiliary safety features – and ten airbags. The IONIQ 9 is priced at PHP 4,580,000.00 and will be made-to-order, offering extensive customization with 10 exterior and 4 interior colors, totaling up to 39 combinations.
Alongside the IONIQ 9, HMPH also unveiled an enhanced IONIQ 5. Building on its award-winning design, the updated IONIQ 5 features a redesigned front bumper, new alloy wheels, and a new rear wiper for improved visibility. Digital side mirrors further contribute to its aerodynamic profile. The refreshed model now provides an AER of up to 530km on a single charge and a maximum output of 229 PS. Interior enhancements include the inside V2L function and expanded Hyundai SmartSense capabilities, with new Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features such as Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning.

The new IONIQ 5 is available in three variants: the EV GL 2WD Standard Range at PHP 2,840,000.00, the EV GLS 2WD Standard Range at PHP 3,068,000.00, and the EV GLS 2WD Long Range at PHP 3,698,000.00. Like the IONIQ 9, it is made-to-order, offering 9 exterior and 4 interior colors for up to 36 combinations. Both the IONIQ 9 and enhanced IONIQ 5 come with a 5-year or 200,000km vehicle warranty, and an 8-year or 160,000km warranty for their high-voltage batteries.
On the other hand, the all-new Palisade Hybrid is powered by a 2.5 Turbo Hybrid engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, producing 334 PS. It combines a commanding presence, marked by 21-inch alloy wheels and wide-projection LED headlamps, with an elegant design. The Palisade Hybrid’s cabin prioritizes comfort, safety, and connectivity.
