Two Sudanese nationals who attempted to flee after being caught by the Bureau of Immigration for violating immigration laws were ordered deported.
The foreigners, identified as Moneeb Ahmed Mohamed Yousif and Zaki Azhari Elzubair Basheer, were apprehended in a residence along M. Soriano Street in coordination with the San Carlos City Police Station.
Both failed to present valid passports or travel documents, rendering them undocumented foreign nationals.
BI intelligence operatives launched the operation after monitoring Moneeb’s continued stay in the country despite failing to update his visa.
He was arrested for overstaying, while Zaki was found to be harboring an illegal alien—both violations of the Philippine Immigration Act.
During the arrest, Basheer put up resistance and shouted at the operatives. Once inside the San Carlos City Police Station, he asked to use the restroom but tried to flee through the rear of the building. He was quickly chased down and apprehended again by BI agents.
The two are now detained at the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, where they will undergo inquest proceedings and face deportation charges.
