CEBU City—Cebu Public Health consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan has convened all chief nurses from the 16 state-run hospitals in Cebu for a consultative meeting to address concerns and challenges in the delivery of healthcare services across the province.
“Our Chiefs of Nurse have never been formally met or heard before. This meeting is only the beginning. We recognize the need for consistent dialogue, especially since we were not given a comprehensive transition from the previous administration,” Catalan said.
She said consultations are long overdue, as she acknowledged the vital role that nursing heads play in the hospital system.
She underscored their responsibility to manage nursing personnel, ensure the delivery of quality patient care, enforce compliance with healthcare protocols, coordinate with hospital administrators, and lead the implementation of clinical and operational programs.
