LTO personnel to assist flood-hit commuters

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has deployed additional personnel to provide maximum assistance to commuters affected by flooding and heavy rains in recent days.

LTO acting chief Greg Pua Jr. said their staff were sent to monitor major thoroughfares and secondary roads in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon to assess road conditions and help stranded commuters.

“Our personnel are actively patrolling to check whether roads remain passable. We are also monitoring the availability of public transportation,” Pua said.

He added that the LTO is in constant coordination with other government agencies to provide needed assistance and has ordered all regional directors to evaluate how many agency personnel were affected by recent weather disturbance

Pua also instructed regional offices to report any damage to LTO offices and equipment caused by flooding. “We want to determine the number of our affected personnel for immediate assistance,” he said.
