Metro Pacific unit mWell opens tech-powered primary care facility in Bacoor

Metro Pacific Investments Corp.’s (MPIC) digital healthcare arm mWell opened its first primary care facility (PCF) at Main Square Mall, Bacoor City.

While a fully integrated digital platform, mWell built the PCF to showcase its digital health suite, particularly the clinic management system and the digital Health ID.

Powered by the mWell Clinic Management System, the facility offers a smooth, technology-enhanced experience with digital patient records, shorter wait times and efficient operations. In partnership with 1Life Inc, PCF provides diagnostic and laboratory services to ensure speed, accuracy, and convenience in every visit.

The PCF is designed to serve as a venue to fully utilize mWell’s digital Health ID. The “one patient, one record” concept, facilitated by the digital ID, aims to create a single, centralized, and secure electronic health record for each patient, improving data accessibility and reducing errors across different healthcare providers.

The facility enables patients to access medical consultations, diagnostic testing with fast results, maternal and childcare, immunization, minor procedures, lifestyle and nutrition counseling, and pre-employment medical exams.

On-site teleconsultations with mWell specialists and wearable health monitoring devices further enhance the integrated care experience.

“Healthcare is a pillar of national progress,” said Manuel Pangilinan, chairman of mWell and chairman and chief executive of MPIC.

“While mWell began as a digital platform, we’ve always believed that true impact lies in integration—where technology meets real, on-the-ground care. This Primary Care Facility brings that vision to life. It’s a tangible step toward a more inclusive healthcare system, one that ensures that every Filipino—whether online or on-site—has a clear path to better health,” he said.

“The patient care facility reflects our commitment to the national goals of the Universal Health Care Act,” said Chaye Cabal-Revilla, president and chief executive of mWell and chief finance, risk and sustainability officer of MPIC.

“Through digital innovation, we’re creating a system that supports early detection, empowers preventive care, and delivers continuity of care. PCF will utilize our HealthSuite, a range of enterprise health solutions including Clinic Management Systems and the digital Health ID which is designed to elevate the healthcare experience,” said said.

The facility is set to offer services under the PhilHealth Konsulta program, with accreditation already in progress. Once launched, qualified PhilHealth members will be able to access consultations, laboratory tests and select medicines at no additional cost through their benefits. This will further reduce out-of-pocket expenses and expand access to essential healthcare for more Filipinos.

“We are very glad to see private sector providers like mWell help government in the quest for a healthier nation in the provision of primary care,” said Walter Bacareza, PhilHealth vice president for Northern and Central Luzon (Area I) and concurrent vice president for Southern Luzon and NCR (Area II).

The facility is now open to the public.
