In a significant move to bridge the gap between agricultural resources and scientific innovation, Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) director Joell Lales led a delegation on July 17, 2025, to the cutting-edge research, development, and manufacturing facility of BauerTek Pharmaceutical Technologies. The visit underscores a burgeoning partnership that aims to leverage the Philippines’ rich agricultural bounty for advancements in health, technology, and economic growth.
BauerTek is widely recognized for its production of natural-based supplements, including those targeting critical illnesses such as cancer. A cornerstone of this collaboration is BauerTek’s commitment to sourcing raw materials locally, directly supporting Filipino farmers who benefit from DA-BAR’s assistance programs. This symbiotic relationship not only ensures the quality of ingredients but also provides a vital market for agricultural produce.
The DA-BAR contingent was joined by representatives from the Institute of Plant Breeding – University of the Philippines Los Baños and Pampanga State Agricultural University. All expressed strong admiration for the collaborative projects between BauerTek and DA-BAR, recognizing the immense potential for further breakthroughs in agriculture and health innovation.
This visit highlights DA-BAR’s continued dedication to strengthening the link between science and agriculture through sustained research and development initiatives. The bureau’s strategic focus remains on enhancing the agricultural sector and expanding the reach of local products into broader markets, ultimately benefiting both Filipino farmers and consumers.
