Dongfeng Motors Philippines officially launched the Dongfeng E70 Pro last July 15 held at Dongfeng Motors Ortigas. The launch allows Dongfeng Motors PH to further promote clean, sustainable, and efficient mobility amidst rising fuel costs and growing environmental concerns, with the E70 Pro positioned as a timely solution for both public and private transportation.
“We are opening the doors to a smarter, greener, and more sustainable way of moving forward. The E70 Pro is our contribution to building a future where Filipino cities breathe cleaner air and Filipinos are empowered by reliable, and intelligent mobility,” stated Mr. Brennan Nathan Singson Lim during his opening remarks.
The Dongfeng E70 Pro boasts an impressive 420-kilometer range on a single charge, aiming to alleviate range anxiety among potential EV owners. Designed for both personal and professional use, it offers a spacious cabin, comfortable seating, and a smooth driving experience. Dongfeng emphasizes the E70 Pro’s global testing and proven reliability, highlighting its battery system’s successful completion of rigorous safety and durability tests, including fire, water immersion, extrusion, and heat dissipation tests.
Globally, the E70 Pro has established a reputation as a trusted electric taxi in both China and South America. Its arrival in the Philippines aligns with the country’s nascent shift towards greener mobility alternatives, suggesting its potential impact on the local transport sector.
From an economic perspective, the E70 Pro presents significant cost-saving opportunities. Drivers could save up to P47.00 for every 6–7 kilometers driven, potentially accumulating savings of up to ₱783,349 over 100,000 kilometers for individual drivers and fleet operators. Furthermore, its lower maintenance requirements translate to an estimated upkeep of just ₱35,000 over five years. Priced at an accessible ₱1,198,000, the E70 Pro aims to redefine the value proposition of electric vehicle ownership in the Philippines.
Another notable highlight of the event was the introduction of TaxiKo EV, a ride-hailing concept utilizing the E70 Pro platform. This debut offered attendees and transport operators a glimpse into a p;form the way Filipinos move – be it for personal, public, or commercial use.
