Philippine bets win pageant for married women in Myanmar

The Philippines’ representatives emerged victorious in the Mrs. Grand International and Mrs. Supranational pageants, with more than forty contestants from across the globe, held recently in Yangon, Myanmar.

Princess Abella from Minglanilla, Cebu finished as First Runner-up in Mrs. Grand International 2025, won by Nguyen Thi Thua of Vietnam, while Mrs. Myanmar was crowned Mrs. Grand International (Elite) 2025. Abella also bagged the Most Popular Award.

Wendelyn Talabis from Santa Cruz, Laguna was crowned Mrs. Supranational (Elite) 2025, while Mrs. Vietnam Nguyen Thi Huyen was named Mrs. Supranational 2025, with Mrs. China finishing as First Runner-up. Talabis ranked Top 1 in the Mrs. Supranational People’s Choice Award, which automatically gave her a spot in the Top 8 finalists.

“Your remarkable performance and victory in Yangon, Myanmar, have brought pride, inspiration, and honor to our country. Your strength, elegance, and unwavering dedication stood out on the international stage — a true embodiment of a world-class Filipina, and a testament to perseverance, heart, and Filipino excellence. Thank you for carrying our flag with dignity and making the whole nation proud,” the Mrs. Philippines International (MPI) organization said in a congratulatory message to Talabis.

MPI also congratulated Abella: “You made the Philippines shine on the international stage with your grace, intelligence, and strength. You embodied the true spirit of a Filipina queen. Your success is a victory for every Filipino.”

Meanwhile, MPI’s Classic Mrs. Philippines International Global 2025, Dr. Evangeline Mae Castillo-Robea, will vie in the Mrs. International Global 2025 to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in September, while Mrs. Philippines Universe Official 2025, Sugar Mercado, will compete in the Mrs. Universe pageant scheduled in Manila in October 2025.
