A total of 271 passengers and drivers were left stranded in some seaports across Eastern Visayas due to the strong winds brought by tropical depression ‘Crising,’ the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Thursday.
In an updated advisory, the PCG said the affected ports include those in Maasin, Benit, and Padre Burgos in Southern Leyte.
It said that from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. on July 17, 135 rolling cargoes and three vessels were also stranded at the seaports. Meanwhile, two more vessels were taking shelter amid the bad weather.
In its situation report this morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said it has recorded three landslides and 19 flooding incidents attributed to the combined effects of ‘Crising’ and the southwest monsoon (habagat) in Central Visayas.
