The Supreme Court (SC) confirmed on Wednesday night that Pasig Regional Trial Court judges have received threats via email.
In a statement, spokesperson Camille Ting said security measures are already in place to secure the targeted judges and court personnel.
“The Court is taking this matter seriously and is closely monitoring the situation. An investigation is underway in coordination with law enforcement authorities. Appropriate security measures have also been put in place to ensure the safety and protection of the judges, court personnel, court users, and the general public,” she said.
The SC reiterated its commitment to uphold judicial independence, noting that “judges will continue to carry out their duties with integrity and calm resolve, guided by fairness and the rule of law,” Ting added
It also urged the public and all concerned stakeholders to remain vigilant and continue supporting the judicial process with trust and respect. The online threats were received by the Pasig court on Wednesday morning
