Runway potholes force closure of Mactan-Cebu airport

Flights to and from Mactan-Cebu International Airport were cancelled or rescheduled Saturday because of its runway’s closure.

Passengers were advised that their flights were delayed after authorities decided to close the runway after it reportedly sustained potholes.

Cebu Pacific announced that its flight was delayed because of “unserviceable runway”. It said flights could resume at 9 p.m.

Reports said several flights bound for Cebu were diverted to nearby airports, while outbound flights were cancelled or rescheduled.
